Summer Position for Indigenous Youth

Seeking Indigenous Actors for Summertime Paid Theatrical Production in Perth, Ontario :  The Classic Theatre Festival is seeking to hire Indigenous performers to participate in the Youth Theatre Training Program as part of the annual Perth Through the Ages, a theatrical walking tour. The 2016 production theme will focus on early Indigenous-Colonial/Settler relations at the time the Perth military settlement was established on Algonquin territory, a half century after the Royal Proclamation of 1763. Perth Through the Ages will run every Wednesday to Sunday at 11:00am from June 22 to August 28, 2016 with rehearsals beginning in mid-May. The Classic Theatre Festival is the Ottawa Valley’s only professional theatre company, featuring some of Canada’s top theatre artists, whose work has been seen on the finest professional stages, as well as on TV, in film, and over the radio. The Classic Theatre Festival’s Youth Theatre Training Program is open to individuals aged 14-25 who are not members of the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association (CAEA).
